Volunteer with EGSA

  • We occasionally host both small-scale and large-scale events to provide students the opportunity to network with their peers, communicate their concerns to EGSA so we can bring it forward to faculty and learn about useful resources/services they can access. Larger events tend to need volunteers however, some small scale events will also require a few volunteers. We will email volunteers at least a week (typically 2-3 weeks) prior to our events to see who is able and willing to participate.
  • We are currently looking for volunteers for orientation on September 5th from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. This is a great opportunity for you to meet incoming Environmental Graduate students and make new friends. If you’d like them to volunteer, fill out this form.

Note: You are not required to volunteer for every event, please prioritize your studies and well-being, if you do not respond to our emails requesting volunteers we automatically assume you are unable to volunteer.

Examples of small scale events:

o   Biweekly Coffee Socials

o   Thrift Crawl

o   Arcade Bar Night

Example of large scale events:

o   Alumni panels

o   Charity Balls

o   Conferences

NEW GRAD LOUNGE

Reminder the Environment graduate lounge has been moved to EV1-325. This space is for the use of all environment graduate students in programs in the Faculty of Environment. The code to access the new space has been sent out by Cynthia Subramaniam, Administrator of Graduate Studies, and will be featured in the upcoming EGSA newsletter.

We hope the new space provides a comfortable space to meet and encourages more interaction among graduate students. As such, we are going to be adding a suggestion box into the room and have a survey for what grad students would like to see with the room.Likewise, remember to fill out the Environment Study Space Survey to let us know what you want to see in the new space.
